Why was a Restroom Needed in Victor Park?

Bitterroot Bike Trail is gaining in popularity as a family friendly activity and Victor is a central point for riders from Stevensville to Hamilton. Families from all over the Bitterroot use this trail and Victor Park.  Victor is also located on the Transcontinental Bicycle Trail and thousands of international cyclists pass by Victor Park each summer.  Currently, there are no public rest areas along the Bitterroot Bike Trail except for in Victor.

This project built a restroom facility in Victor Park adjacent to the Bitterroot Trail bike path.  The restroom has handicap accessibility, double stalls on both men's and women's sides, connection to a city sewer, lavatory sinks, heating and necessary amenities.

The restroom is available for any public use including park users, bicyclists, and pedestrians on the trail as well as motorists on Highway 93.

The Victor Park Board applied for a grant with the Montana State Parks system working through the Fish Wildlife and Parks Recreational Trails Program to help get our restrooms built.

There was a minimum 20% local match requirement for this grant.  Victor's match was managed through fund raising, cash donations, and donated labor and material.  â€‹â€‹
